We dedicated a week to celebrating breastfeeding and sharing practices that strengthen the health of mothers and babies. For Indigenous communities, breastfeeding is not only a way to nourish children, it is also an act of care that reinforces family bonds and carries the wisdom of generations.
During the event, participants exchanged knowledge and experiences aimed at improving maternal and child health. These conversations highlighted the importance of ensuring that new generations grow strong, healthy, and deeply connected to their cultural roots.
For REDD+ Matavén, protecting more than one million hectares of forest, safeguarding biodiversity, and conserving waters is inseparable from supporting the well-being of the people who make this possible. The health of mothers and children today is directly linked to the strength of tomorrow’s guardians of the forest.
By investing in community health, we are also nurturing the future of conservation in Matavén.
