Last October 4th and 5th, we participated in Expobosques 2022, an event created to share sustainable forest experiences, learn about new tools and identify institutions to create cooperation agreements; in order to promote rural, peasant and ethnic development, while integrating forest management and biodiversity conservation.
This event was organized by the German Cooperation GIZ with the support of: FAO, Amazonia Sostenible, Colombian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Colombian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Global Green Growth Institute, USAID, Fondo Acción, Embassy of Norway, Embassy of the United Kingdom, GEF, WWF, Embassy of Germany, Government of Meta, PROBOSQUES, Corazón Amazonía and UNDP.
Communities, private companies, public and government institutions shared 63 experiences (61 national and 2 international) of:
- Sustainable forest management and ecosystem services
- Human well-being and governance
- Forest extension and financing
- Digital tools
- Value addition and marketing
At REDD+ Matavén we are committed to sustainable development, which is why we participate in this type of events, actively looking for new tools and/or possible allies to continue working on our main objective: tackle climate change, stop deforestation, safeguard biodiversity and improve the well-being of Matavén indigenous communities
