One of the families participating in our Agroforestry Productive Project of cocoa, plantain, corn and native forest species delivered 114 kg of cocoa to sell in our cooperative stores.
This Productive Project is part of our “Activity 6” where we work to boost food production, promote sustainable agricultural practices (good land use), reduce pressure on the forest, guarantee Matavén families food security and create new commercial opportunities for them. We also built the cooperative stores to market products that are grown, crafted and needed by Matavén communities and people from the surrounding area, to satisfy their consumer needs at a fair price.
So that, we are simultaneously protecting Matavén natural resources and improving the quality of life of its indigenous peoples.
