Indigenous people inhabiting the Indigenous Reservation of the Matavén Forest are the leading actors of the Project: they took the initiative, they are committed, they participate and work on all Matavén REDD+ activities.
We value and respect indigenous people’s worldview, cultural integrity, autonomy, dignity, and ancestral traditions. In fact, Matavén REDD+ is a participatory process: we work hand in hand with Matavén indigenous communities so that we can all together stop deforestation & protect their tropical forests and biodiversity.
