Since September 2021, we have been working on our Productive Project of Self-Sustainable School Farms, in partnership with the Granja Tarapacá Foundation. These Farms are innovative spaces where agroecology meets natural resource preservation, blending the ancestral knowledge of Matavén indigenous communities with modern agroecological and silvopastoral techniques.
At our “Banakale Pabi” School Farm, nestled in the Siwo Tsenebo community, our efforts are focused on enhancing food production. We champion sustainable farming practices that respect and protect the soil, while simultaneously generating new economic opportunities for indigenous communities. This strategy not only bolsters food security but also aids in fostering local economic development.
