We remodeled and furnished the new office of the Association of Councils and Traditional Indigenous Authorities of the Matavén Forest – ACATISEMA, in Villavicencio (Colombia).
ACATISEMA is an indigenous organization legally recognized by the Colombian government, representing and leading Matavén political, economic and socio-cultural processes; to ensure the survival of their indigenous peoples and the protection of their natural resources. ACATISEMA is one of the developers of REDD+ Matavén.
This new office is – in addition to the ones in Inírida and Cumaribo – an Indigenous Environmental Thinking Center of the Matavén Forest, an important place to welcome their indigenous peoples, answer their questions and solve their problems, plan activities, make decisions and provide solutions; and as a result, strengthen the governance of ACATISEMA.
The workplace has 3 offices, a meeting room, a waiting room and a cafeteria. We temporarily employed an architect, a foreman, a painter, 2 locksmiths, 2 assistants and a driver to rebuild the areas (stucco, painting, floor protection, furniture building) and install the furniture and other equipment:
- 3 tempered glass doors with sliding system and stainless-steel accessories
- 1 tempered glass door with hinged system and stainless-steel accessories
- 1 table the meeting room

- 17 chairs
- 1 chair with 3 seats
- 3 file cabinets
- 1 laptop
- 36 light bubbles
- 4 wastepaper bins
