As part of our “Activity 6: Productivity Projects”, we provided 269 head of cattle to the indigenous communities of AIWA KUNA TSEPAJIBO: Carraba, Mangal Yopalito, Guayabetal, Palmita, Kirey Rincon, Kirey Central, Capturama, La Venturosa, Cerrito, Arenal, El Regreso, Guarracañe, Tamude, Cumariana, Estancia, Kuna, Sidon Okarraba, Aiwa la Reforma; Tsawaliwali, Misimisi, San Antonio & Maniare. This Silvopasture Program promotes sustainable livestock production, it integrates trees, pasture, and forage into a single system, increasing carbon sequestration & mitigating climate change, while ensuring food security of RIU-SM indigenous families.

Our Mataven REDD+ Project is a participatory process, we work hand in hand with RIU-SM indigenous communities to tackle climate change, stop deforestation, protect their tropical forests & reduce CO2 global emissions – while safeguarding their rich biodiversity and improving their well-being.
