REDD+ Matavén at ANATO: Boosting Sustainable Nature Tourism

In late February, we showcased at ANATO, Colombia’s leading tourism fair, featuring 1,300 exhibitors and 22,000 attendees, including newcomers Japan and Costa Rica. This was a prime platform for REDD+ Matavén to highlight our Nature Tourism Project, designed in partnership with the Cuidar la Tierra Foundation.

REDD+ Matavén: A Transformative Vision

Our Nature Tourism Project offers a unique experience to discover Colombia’s hidden gem in Matavén. Visitors can experience the rich natural and cultural heritage, while supporting sustainable livelihoods for local indigenous communities. The project serves as a model for environmental conservation and a catalyst for community empowerment and life quality improvement, establishing Matavén’s first Indigenous Community Tourism Council.

Impact & Future

The positive feedback at ANATO highlights the growing interest in nature tourism and practices that honor environmental and cultural legacy. This visibility and support mark a step towards new business opportunities and our commitment to Matavén sustainable development.

At REDD+ Matavén, we’re dedicated to advancing models that balance economic development with environmental conservation and social progress for Matavén, Colombia, and the world.
