In the past couple of days, we met with different institutions, such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Ramsar Estrella Fluvial del Inírida and the Farmers Association of Inírida; looking forward to creating synergies and making progress towards achieving our goals: stop deforestation in the Indigenous Reservation of the Mataven Forest, safeguard its biodiversity and create a more prosperous future for their indigenous people.
We met at the “Indigenous Environmental Center” (Inírida, Colombia), a building that we design to create a space for dialogue in order to: preserve indigenous ancestral values and knowledge, promote the unity of the indigenous people, strengthen the governance of the Association of Cabildos and Traditional Indigenous Authorities of the Matavén Forest – ACATISEMA and promote the protection of their natural resources.
Antonio Dasilva, ACATISEMA Finance Coordinator shares details about the meetings in the following video.
